After the successful completion of a new church building, the congregation of St. Johns turned to the renovation of its original 11,000 SF octagonal one-story sanctuary into a multi-use facility with banquet halls, full-service catering kitchen and all new mechanical/electrical infrastructure. The project cost $1.5 million and was completed in May 2005.
HVAC systems include split system DX VAV with partial redundancy for assembly areas. Controls are DDC type, and dehumidification cycles are achieved through the use of hot gas bypass and hot water reheat. Utility costs are minimized through the use of CO2 sensors for control of outdoor ventilation air. Building heat is provided by modular natural gas-fired hot water boilers. The kitchen has separate make-up air and grease exhaust. Plumbing systems include natural gas, filtered water, dishwasher hot water system, and a grease interceptor.
